Company Profile
Mudpro Consultants Limited is an SME founded in January 1998 and is a totally independent 100% self owned British limited company. Since inauguration, the company has specialised in the provision of "Independent" solids control, drill fluid & cuttings handling, processing and containment based on:
UKOOA recommendations of 1990 - "guidelines for rig containment systems and procedural methods for the minimisation of Oil based mud losses to the marine environment".
OSPAR decision 2000/3 on the use of organic-phase drilling fluids (OPF) and the discharge of OPF contaminated cuttings.
Our personnel have comprehensive solids control, mud handling and engineering backgrounds and this wealth of experience enables them to operate and optimise all solids control and drilling fluid handling systems to ensure our clients obtain maximum cost efficiency when drilling oil and gas wells. Our past performance has shown considerable mud cost reductions plus relative improvements in drilling performance and has been duly recognised by our customers: BP (UK) (Ireland) (Asia), Nexen Petroleum, Talisman Energy UK, Total Oil Marine, Shell UK, ConocoPhillips (UK) (Holland) (China), Kerr McGee UK, ADTI, Tullow Oil, Ranger Oil, Britannia Operator, Chevron Texaco, DNO, UTEC, GlobalSanteFe, Elf UK.
We offer a comprehensive rig audit/survey service. This service allows us to assess a drilling installation's ability to conform to the UKOOA recommendations of January 1990 - "Guidelines for rig containment systems and procedural methods for the minimisation of Oil based drilling mud losses to the marine environment". It is designed to assess the suitability of a rig's drilling fluid system to process, handle and contain drilling fluids in today's environment. The survey covers a review of the solids control package suitability and prospective performance, mud system flow dynamics, total containment double isolation capacity, and the rig specific drilling fluid handling procedures (if available) on how the rig crews act and perform when utilising these drilling fluids.
Historically our environmental containment performance coupled with the minimisation of waste generation and reduction in related consumables has provided substantial financial savings for Oil and Gas Operators when drilling their wells. Our ability and record to contain and process environmentally sensitive and impartial advice regarding the selection of drilling mud & cuttings processing and containment equipment ensures Operators obtain the ideal system for both drilling and "duty of care" operational requirements. We achieve drilling fluid loss minimisation on the rig by orchestrating the following techniques and strategies:
(i) Pre OPF installation audit/surveying to assess solids control and containment performance, advising on suitable equipment and actions to achieve reduced mud consumption without impacting solids control performance.
(ii) Evaluation and optimisation of the primary solids control equipment to minimise the use of secondary processing and treatment.
(iii) Implementation and management of mud containment procedure.
(iv) Implementation and management of mud containment operation and spillage recovery.
